I grew up a few hours from the Poconos Mountains and had always gone in winter to ski, but had never visited during the Summer until meeting Adam. His family has a cabin on Lake Wallenpaupack there and we are lucky enough to spend plenty of Summer weekends there now. For those in the New York area, it’s just a 2+ hour drive (car or bus are the easiest ways to get there) and a blissful escape from the city.

I originally thought I’d be able to break out this fringe top over the weekend as a swimsuit cover-up, but the weather had other plans. Luckily it works just as well thrown on over denim in part 2 of what is apparently becoming a Seventies, Americana theme here on the blog (check out part 1 here).

As far as holidays go, fashion-wise, the Fourth of July is kind of my high holy day. Red, white and blue, stripes, denim. It’s what I wear year-round anyway so I’ll take any further embrace.
