I knew that once I picked up this white denim jacket there would be no turning back. And especially now that the weather is nothing short of glorious, I’m more than ready to swap out all my darker colors in favor of bright whites.

Happy Friday! And happy May! This just so happens to be my favorite month. The weather has always finally made the turn, everything is in bloom, I’ve got those ‘school’s almost out for Summer’ feels, and somewhere near the middle I happen to have a birthday. Plus – it’s the season of bright colors and booties. So basically, an all around good time.

After years of meaning to get there, this weekend Adam and I finally made it to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. And it didn’t disappoint. Neither of course, did this Impressionist-inspired dress from Talbots. Bright and dreamy, just like all those flowers.

If I had to make a list of my essential Spring pieces, a pair of neutral suede ankle boots would be pretty near the top. The weather is warm enough that I’ve been walking everywhere, but still cool enough that sandals aren’t really an option. So booties it is. And there’s barely an item in my closet that isn’t a match.

I’ve been living in easy denim pieces and stripes this Spring (proof here and here) and this outfit may be the ultimate culmination of that. Saturday morning I took these wide leg white trousers for their first spin in a location that had an equal dose of nautical style – South Street Seaport.
