^ That feeling when you’re both headed towards the weekend, arm in arm. We actually snapped these photos a couple weeks back when we were out at the lake house over Labor Day. There’s the cutest small town (Milton, PA) that we drive through and if there’s time, like to stop along our way. It was already feeling like Fall that particular morning and so we both were happy to have packed comfy denim, cozy button downs and soft knits (a striped tee for me and hoodie for him) – all from Old Navy.
Allow me to introduce you to my new power suit. This kind of 80’s/90’s inspired power dressing was all over the streets this year at NYFW and I’m kind of loving it. There’s just nothing like shoulder pads and sharp boots to make you feel like you’re going to kick ass at whatever you do that day.
A couple of weeks back, I joined up with the team at Maggy London to share my take on office dressing this Fall. I’m always looking for ways to make workwear feel a bit more fun, and with the help of their flattering, on-trend (but still office appropriate) dresses – it felt like such a cinch.
Below – I style 3 dresses for now, when the days are still warm, and later in the fall, when the weather’s cooler. Would love to know which is your favorite! See even more photos from our shoot here and a big thank you to the entire Maggy Londoncrew and @seanmaddenphoto who shot all of these photos.
Paris, 1967 meets New York, 2017. If you guys have been following along for any length of time than you know that the1960’s are my all time favorite era to reference for style inspiration. So when I’m really going for it fashion-wise (and not in my more typical jeans and tee), I usually do a take on that and love looking at style from cities like London and Paris especially during that time. Lucky for me, 60s and 70s references are everywhere for Fall.
Doesn’t the week after Labor Day always feel like you’re going back to school? Despite the fact that I haven’t been back to school in nearly a decade and I don’t have any children I’m walking to the school bus, I never can shake that feeling in early September. And I don’t mind, because it gives me a chance to break out a few classic staples (a fresh white tee, new jacket, backpack…) – just like my parent’s would have bought me before a new school year. While I don’t miss homework, I do slightly miss the days when they were footing that bill.. ha.
