Friday I checked out the local Mood Fabric store (a welcome sight after being spoiled with textile choices in New York) to browse/dream up future DIY projects, Saturday was spent in utter relaxation at Huntington Beach, and today I geared up for starting my new job tomorrow and (despite the weather forecast of 80-90 degrees for this week) picked up some new fall staples that will definitely come in handy as the nights get chillier.  I can’t quite get over the joy of bare legs in mid October and just a simple sweater in the evening to keep warm.

Today’s ‘Happy Friday’ blog post has a lot to celebrate (I am now gainfully employed as a graphic designer)!  With the job search out of the way, I can focus on the fun stuff – like how I’ll plan on decorating once we move from our sublease to something more permanent.  These looks from Lonny’s current issue sum up what I’m shooting for (comfortable couch, low slung bookshelves, moroccan style rugs, mix of art and pattern, and (ideally) lots of natural light).  Enjoy your weekend, but personally.. I’m really looking forward to Monday!

If the street style snaps from Fashion Week were any indication, printed pants are here to stay.  I think the trick to pulling them off is to give in to their eccentricity and just have fun with it.  Pair them with a graphic sweater, and then balance the look with a basic bag (the more polished and grown up the better here, you don’t want to be confused for Punky Brewster).  Perfect for a Saturday spent shopping with a friend (just switch out the sweater for a white tee and black blazer when it comes time for your evening date).
