Anyone else still struggling after that longggg weekend?! We spent the holiday at the lake and I’m almost never as relaxed as I am when I’m there. This barn and open field are just a short drive from the lake house and we drove over early our first morning there to take in the utter silence and fresh air. I wore this floral maxi dress and lace-up sandals – an outfit that I ended up wearing twice while we were there. Was the weekend that long or is this outfit that good? A little of both perhaps.
SHOP THE STORY
When we go to the lake, I rarely wear dresses. Things are so relaxed there that jean shorts and tees or loose swim cover-ups are what I typically end up lounging around in. I also rarely wear maxi dresses because they tend to hide my shape and overwhelm my 5’4″ frame. But then there was this floral maxi dress. So insanely soft and comfortable you’d think you’re in pajamas, but so pretty I never wanted to take it off. And with a flattering cinched waist and body-skimming silhouette. I wore it for our morning walk and again a couple days later when we went to dinner at the Boathouse restaurant across the lake. This look felt right at home out in the country.. but now that I’ve unpacked my bags in the city I already can’t wait to wear it again.
