Every summer, Adam and I make it a goal to enjoy as much of New York City as possible. On Saturday night, we tossed on our unofficial summer uniforms (me – stripes and neutrals, him – a fun shirt and easy denim) and kicked off the season by joining Old Navy for a MLB Mets game.

Not only was the weather perfect, but we were treated to box seats (I hate to say it – but they kind of ruined regular seats for me.. no hot dog lines people!) which made the whole evening feel like such a special experience. Did I mention chocolate chip cookies at the 7th inning stretch? The Mets won (although for the record – we’re both still Phillies fans) and the night ended with an awesome fireworks display. Total date night win.
We both kept it casual in comfortable denim pieces and printed shirts. I picked up this cute stripe off the shoulder top with tie sleeve details and a pair of white skinny jeans for the occasion. I usually avoid white skinny jeans because I can never find a pair that I feel are super flattering, but I’m loving these! I like that this pair doesn’t have a lot of stretch (which kind of holds everything in.. especially after that hot dog and cookies), plus has Old Navy’s new ‘stay white’ technology that repels stains and spills. Perfect for a baseball game.
Adam picked up another printed button down ‘Getaway Shirt‘. I first convinced him he’d look great in one here and ever since then there’s been no turning back, he’s had them on repeat! Worn with laid back jeans and a Phillies t-shirt hidden underneath.. naturally.
I can’t wait for the rest of the summer spent exploring this city together.
