This Saturday it was finally warm and sunny, giving us our first taste of summer in the city. That magical time where everyone is outside, everything is in bloom and you feel like a kid on vacation from school again. And if I’m going to relive my 90s childhood – I may as well do it in a throwback crop top, right?
SHOP THE STORY
Adam and I grabbed an early brunch at Westville (one of our favorite neighborhood spots for a consistently delicious but still healthy meal), then walked to Washington Square park. We listened to the Piano Man (a park legend, this guy rolls out a grand piano every day and plays beautiful music all day long), grabbed ice cream cones from a corner truck and wandered down Washington Mews (the street these photos were taken on). I spend a lot of time busy with work, blogging, life.. so I relish the days when Adam and I are just sort of free to wander.
I like that outfit feels different than my usual breezy dress uniform for summer, but still really comfortable and cute. I picked up this yellow gingham crop top on a whim and now I love it so much I’m thinking about getting it in another color (it comes in solid white, green and red too and they’re all on sale). Since I’m not into baring midriff aside from at the beach, these high waisted wide leg chinos were a good match. And these shoes (last seen here) have officially passed my city walking test. Comfortable, affordable and they match with everything. You may want to pick up a pair. Here’s to summer in the city.
