BLACK AND WHITE FOR SUMMER WITH OLD NAVY

The Steele Maiden: Black and White for Summer with Old Navy - Fringe Tote and Palm Print Sneakers

Out of all the seasons, I wear the most color in the summer; cherry reds, ocean blue, sunflower yellow. But no one can argue that the easiest colors to wear – no matter the season – are black and white. And denim.. which is basically a neutral right? The trick is making them still feel fun and summer-y. A fringe tote, palm print sneakers or lightweight tank sweater are just the things.

SHOP THE STORY

This is kind of my quintessential running errands look. I wore this a couple of weekends back and I’m pretty sure my day went something like: bagels at our neighborhood spot, pharmacy, grocery store, flower run at the corner bodega. You get the picture. For days when you need to be comfortable and effortless – but still get stopped on the street and asked ‘where’d you get that cute bag?!’. Way better than one of those canvas totes I otherwise may be caught carrying. In other news – I’d been looking for a pair of extra ripped jeans (with unfinished hems too) but didn’t want to spend a ton on such a ‘trend’ item and love this pair. They have a good stretch and the open knees and ankle length hem hit perfectly (I’m only 5’4″ so that’s not always the case). Summertime.. and the livin’ is easy.
