WHERE TO STAY IN LOS ANGELES: CARLYLE INN BEVERLY HILLS

The Steele Maiden: Where to Stay in Los Angeles - Carlyle Inn Beverly Hills

Last week, we started our West Coast travels in Los Angeles. Adam and I spent almost 2 years living in LA so we were excited to get back and visit some of our old favorite spots – but needed a home base. Somewhere that was convenient to hopping between friends’ places in Culver City, morning trips to the beach in Santa Monica, a cruise through downtown and shopping in Beverly Hills (if you’ve ever been to LA you know that traffic is a beast and finding a central location between all of these places feels like mission impossible). But then there was the Carlyle Inn Beverly Hills. One look at the bold outdoor stripes and luxe interiors and we knew we’d found just the place.

We landed and checked into the hotel just in time to change out of our travel clothes and head into the central courtyard for their complimentary happy hour. Nothing like a cold drink to welcome you to LA, right? We were there during the week so the hotel was probably less busy than over a weekend, but we loved how quiet and relaxing the common areas felt. Just a few other friendly guests enjoying a pre-dinner drink in the warm evening air.

The next morning (after sleeping off our jet lag), we stayed in bed late catching up on the daily news, listening to music and relaxing. The beds felt like a cloud and I loved that the room had a separate desk and sitting area for me to spread out and get some work done while we were on the road.

Feeling nice and rested, we headed down to the garden cafe for a complimentary breakfast – helloooo make your own waffle bar! You had the option to eat inside at the fully stocked cafe or to take your breakfast out onto the terrace and eat in your own private cabana. I clearly chose the latter. And not only because my outfit happened to match the chic throw pillows.

In the case that you didn’t want to make the drive across town to the beach, I loved that there was a sun deck for laying out in the afternoon or taking an evening dip in the hot tub. Since the hotel isn’t huge (think small boutique size), it really did feel like you could have these corners all to yourself which made our stay there feel super personal. We’ll definitely be back again!
