HOW TO: HOLIDAY LAYERING IN A SEQUIN TOP AND FAUX FUR SCARF

Holiday layering in sequin top, striped turtleneck and faux fur stole

While I’ve definitely simplified my style over the years, I never find myself drawn to a minimalist aesthetic around the holidays. It just feels like way more fun to take the ‘more is more’ approach. Which is why piling on stripes, sequins and faux fur to all at once seemed completely rational last week.

SHOP THE STORY

This sequin top is something I picked up last holiday season and I’ve been anticipating pulling it out again this December ever since. I like that it’s flashy but less traditional than your typical silver or gold sequins. So I kept up the navy theme and layered my favorite tissue thin striped turtleneck then added a couple of fun faux fur accessories with this stole and pom hat. The rest of the outfit stuck to my everyday basics of jeans, suede booties and a classic handbag. This saddle bag is an investment but one I’ve never regretted – as long as I can keep it in good condition – it’s a forever piece! A good wardrobe should be 80% staples, 20% flash in the pan pieces. Saddle bag meet sequins.
