CASUAL PLAID AND DISTRESSED DENIM: TWO WAYS

I was originally going to show these outfits in two separate posts – but when I noticed that both featured a casual plaid top, distressed denim and loafers.. I figured they were meant to be twinning together. Turns out this is my go-to weekend look because for the past two Saturdays I’ve reached for some variation. Comfortable, casual and a tiny bit holiday-inspired? A winning combo in my book.

An easy flannel button-down is a staple this time of year and when you pair it with a v-neck tee (these are my absolute favorite) there’s almost nothing more comfortable. This look is pretty no frills, so I added these holiday loafers (they’re embroidered with a car carrying a christmas tree on one foot and a tree-lined road on the other!) to put a little extra pep in my step. I’m definitely wearing these when we go to pick out our tree this weekend.

Since I admittedly have enough flannel button downs, I thought I’d mix things up this season – and so I went wild with this plaid flannel sweatshirt. It’s from Aerie – one of my favorite loungewear brands – and I’ll tell ya, I’d be lying if I said that this sweatshirt may not get worn outside and also in bed. It’s just that cozy. But if it’s an outdoor outfit you’re looking for, distressed skinny jeans and metallic loafers are a good replacement for leggings and slippers.
