NYFW Street Style - OTK boots and vest dress

We’re in the home stretch of Fashion Week (it passed in it’s usual blur) and my schedule is starting to slow down. Which means I have time to look through all of the things that came down the runway and make sense of them in terms of next Spring’s trends (spoiler alert: Seventies style isn’t going anywhere). In the meantime, I wore this look on Saturday for a presentation at Pier 59 Studios. Let’s take a moment to talk about these boots

They’re from UK-based brand Ted & Muffy and they’re amazing not only because I’ve been dreaming of a pair of black suede OTK boots for about 2 years now.. but also because they’re available in custom sizes. I think I speak for all of us when I say that tall boots are a tricky fit. Too slouchy at the ankles, too tight in the calves, too narrow in the foot.  But Ted & Muffy offers a “fairytale fit” meaning their easy online guide helps you measure your own foot width or calf width and then select an option that will fit like.. well Cinderella’s slipper if you will. The rest of the look I kept simple with this tuxedo vest, a white t-shirt (that I stole from Adam’s drawer) and a couple of knock out cuffs.
