Day dates, wearing layers, fresh flowers, crisp air… I could go on and on about the reasons I’m excited that it’s officially Fall. If you’ve stopped by this week than you’ve already come along for the first two looks and locations of my Fall Favorites series with Talbots (here and here) – showcasing my tops picks from their new collection paired with my top spots to visit in New York this season. And that list would be incomplete without a trip to Central Park.
SHOP THE STORY
One of Adam and I’s early New York dates was row boating in Central Park. This past weekend we finally returned and it just so happened to be almost exactly 4 years later.. and just as dreamy as I remembered. There’s something about the Park in Autumn that makes you fall even more in love with this city. I picked up a fresh bouquet, took a stroll across Bow Bridge and then we jumped in a boat and set off – and for an hour in the middle of this bustling city everything just seemed to fade away. Fall magic I tell you.
Since I knew I was going to want to be comfortable for walking and rowing (okay.. so Adam did all the rowing) I went with a few light layers. I now understand why everyone loves these thin quilted vest.. it’s the perfect weight and this one comes in a bunch of colors/prints for under $100. To offset the denim shirt and vest – I added a few pretty finishing touches with this pink paisley scarf and the cutest orange suede flats (I love that these have the tiniest lift of a heel to them but are still completely walkable). And if you’ve noticed that this quilted bag has shown up in every post this week, it’s because I’m pretty obsessed with it.
Thanks for following along these past few days and a special thanks to my friends at Talbots for letting me swoon over their Fall collection!
