HOW TO: STYLE A VINTAGE T-SHIRT

Get the Look: How to Style a Vintage T-Shirt

As far as wardrobe heroes go, a vintage t-shirt is probably one of the most underrated. I mean sure, it gets the weekends. But what about the workdays? I teamed up with AOL Style List to show you how I style my favorite tee (scored at No Relation in the East Village) for the office.

SHOP THE STORY

The criteria for the perfect vintage t-shirt are nearly impossible to find all in one – it has to be soft & broken in but not falling apart, slouchy not loose or oppositely shrunken but not tight and finally, it has to have the perfect graphic.  This one is from a New Year’s Eve Midnight Run through NYC in ’85.. which combines my love for this city, running and also reminds me of the final scene in one of my favorite movies ever – When Harry Met Sally. It’s a total gem. But getting away with it at the office is tricky. My tips? A sharp blazer, sleek pencil skirt (a contrasting pattern keeps things fun) and a few bold accessories (like red pumps and chunky gold necklaces). What does your favorite vintage t-shirt look like?
